Coming to a Close

Well, our final week is coming to a close. Before I get into the important things, I'll give you a short update on our afternoon adventures. Here in Lisburn, we take our field trips between the morning Holiday Bible Club at Balinderry and the evening Holiday Bible Club at Maze. On Monday, we crossed the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and had lunch on the other side. On our drive there, we had a clear view of a shadow on the horizon which, Gregg informed us, was Scotland. From there we went to Giants Causeway and wandered about the octagon shaped rocks. On Tuesday, our adventure was simply a shopping trip to an outlet mall. Wednesday, we went to meet the Lord Mayor of Lisburn and shopped in the city. Today, we went to the Somme Heritage Center, which was a museum tour documenting the role of the Ulster Irish in World War One. Tomorrow, we're going to Belfast for shopping and then on Saturday, we're leaving Northern Ireland for Dublin in the Republic. The long and short of that is that in three days time, we will all be in the U.S.A once more.

Please pray for our team during these last few days; the majority of us have had colds, sore throats, stuffy noses and sinuses. These next few days in the Holiday Bible Club are crucial because they are the last chances we have to share the Gospel with the children before we head home. We've all made connections with at least one child. Please pray that we will all be healthy enough tomorrow, our last day of Holiday Bible Club, so that we can effectively minister to the children. Also, tomorrow is our July 4th Celebration. The parents of the children are coming back into the HBC at Maze during the last 15 minutes to get a glimpse of what we have been doing with their children this week. It is our hope that parents who do not know the Lord will be ministered to during this time and that not only children, but parents as well will be entered into the Kingdom.

Thanks again for all your prayers, and we'll see you soon!

A Second Week Begins

Hello all! I believe that I can speak for the entire team and say that we're having a great time but are completely exhausted. We are no longer in Craigavon, and although we miss it, we are looking forward to our week at Maze and Ballinderry. Having completed our firs official day in our new environment, it is safe to say that the upcoming week will be both fun an exciting!

The Holiday Bible Club and Summer Scheme at Craigavon were successful. We all really felt a connection with the people of the chuch and were disappointed to leave. Actually, we had a couple of teens come to faith through the Summer Scheme! God is moving in Northern Ireland! Our work there is done and our work here is just beginning! I'll do my best to keep posting throughout or week here. Feel free to comment and send messages to the team members, but keep in mind that I am not going to be checking and posting on the blog every night.

Before I talk about today, I must tell you about our minor adventures here in N. Ireland. We have been to Armagh to see both of St. Patricks Cathedrals; we have toured Belfast on the uncovered portion of a double-decker bus (in the rain) and "walked", as the Irish call a hike, in the Mournes. The hike was only yesterday, and I think we all enjoyed it. The only members of our team who did no participate were Jan and Sheryl, who opted for a shopping trip. My legs are telling me that they knew what was best :) I do, however, feel proud of those who chose the hike. It was difficult, cold, rainy and wet but against all odds, we perservered until the end and came out proud and accomplished. He adventure on the calendar for tomorrow isthe Coast and Giants Causeway.

Today being Sunday, we woke early and headed to a service at Ballinderry Presbyterian Church where we were received with a breakfast of sausage, bacon, toast, jam and our choice of tea or coffee. Josh gave an incredible message and then we headed off to the second service at Maze Presbyterian Church where we had a coffee reception and listened to Josh's message once more. When the service had ended we headed to The Manse, which is basically the parsonage and had a barbeque lunch. The lunch lasted several hours, as everyone was having a great time laughing and having fun. We enjoyed it immensly. For those football fans out there...excuse me, soccer fans, the final between Germany and Spain was tonight and so those who were interested watched that at the church while the girls enjoyed a movie night.

Although we're tired, we're looking foward to Tuesday when Holiday Bible Club beings at both Ballinderry and Maze. We will be doing separate HBC's at each chuch, but the lessons and theme will be the same. There is busyweek ahead but we're ready for whatever God has in store for us

Thank you again for your prayer and suppot, we could not do it without you. Thanks.

An Update Through Pictures

Hello, Everyone!  Today, Friday, is sadly our last day doing Holiday Bible Club in Craigavon.  This week has been absolutely amazing.  Every night more and more children show up.  Please be in prayer for the work to continue in their lives even after the Holiday Bible Club rush is over.
Here are just a few pictures to show what we have been up to this week.

Preparing for "Holiday Bible Club"

Good afternoon! As you probably know, this is our third day in Northern Ireland. When we landed in Dublin it was raining and has just cleared up today. No matter the weather, we're looking forward to the adventures ahead. Hopefully you'll stick with us.

The people here at Craigavon Presbyterian Church are wonderful; all those here who have opened up their homes for us are so hospitible. Although we have only been here for a short amount of time, they have us feeling right at home.

This morning we traveled to three Primary Schools (Elementary) and promoted the Holiday Bible Club that is beginning tonight. The children gathered in the gym and we did a short presentation. Chad led the kids in a song and those who knew the hand-motions to the song helped teach them. The dancers performed 2-3 dances at each school. Gregg and Andy alternated talking to the kids about the difference between Ireland and the U.S. Then we had a small lunch at the church and went off to a Secandary School (High School) to promote Summer Scheme. We did things differently at this school; Chad played some of the songs he has written and Andy shared a short testimony. Then we went back to the church and began setting up for the Holiday Bible Club.

Now we are simply waiting for the kids to arrive. Well, that should hold you over until the next entry!

Thanks for your prayer and support, we greatly appreciate it.
